Welcome to Moore Denture Clinic Clinical Laboratory

Complete dentures

Complete dentures are needed when you have no remaining natural teeth. Every mouth is different and each person will respond differently to dentures. At the beginning of your denture treatment, your providing denturist will do an examination of your mouth to establish the treatment plan. Your denturist will also use the evidence from this exam will provide a prognosis, the denturist's professional opinion on how they believe you will adapt to being a denture wearer. Even in some complicated conditions, we have seen the mouth be incredibly adaptable - if you're willing to work hard during the adapting period, which can be anywhere from 1-6 weeks, you can have many years of denture success! We are here not just to make you your new teeth, but to walk alongside you and help you on this journey.

Pros:

  •  Restores your smile
  • Restores confidence
  • Regain ability to chew food again
  • Enables proper speech after adaption period
  • Upper denture can have strong suction
  • More affordable than implant supported dentures
  • Helps maintain facial and lip support

Cons:

  • Gums continually shrink - needs relines every 2-3 years
  • As the gums shrink, there becomes less support and retention for the dentures
  • Can get sore spots during the adaption period
  • Lower denture can move when eating/talking due to the tongue and cheeks
  • Food can get underneath the dentures
  • Biting force loss can be greater than 50% compared to when you had natural teeth
  • Chewing can take up to 5-7 times longer than with natural teeth
  • Taste and sensation changes

Materials

We offer dentures in lighter and darker tones to help match the denture color to the color of your gums!

Implants

Many, many people are successful denture wearers and enjoy many of the foods that they love, but complete dentures may not be for everyone. The best option for function and esthetics with complete dentures is to have them supported by implants.
